The Insides Company is pleased to announce the release of version five (v5) of The Insides System, available from 1 April 2025.
This latest version extends the time that chyme can remain in the ostomy appliance before being reinfused, from 8 hours to 12 hours - a 50% increase in elapsed time.
This is important for patients with intestinal failure, as it allows patients to sleep throughout the night and then reinfuse the chyme that has collected in their bag in the morning, thereby significantly reducing their overnight intestinal losses and improving their nutritional and fluid intake.
Secondly, in accordance with The Insides Company’s commitment to environmental responsibility, the Instructions For Use (IFU) for The Insides System and The Insides Refill have been reduced in size and are now also provided electronically, minimizing paper and shipping waste without compromising accessibility. This update has been made in alignment the company’s B-Corp certification and commitment to reducing the environmental impact of medical devices.
