The Insides System, a novel chyme reinfusion medical device for intestinal failure, has won the James & Wells Medical Technology Association of New Zealand (MTANZ) Innovation Award for 2021, presented at the Health Tech Week Gala Dinner in Auckland.
The Insides System is developed by The Insides Company and exclusively distributed in New Zealand by Obex Medical, who presented the technology to the judging panel at the Gala Dinner.
The MTANZ Innovation award is a prestigious award that recognises innovation from both locally New Zealand-developed and imported medical technologies that significantly contribute to improving patient outcomes and quality of life. Each year, the winner of the MTANZ Innovation Award is judged by a panel of distinguished industry stakeholders and health professionals.
MTANZ is the only industry body representing medical technology manufacturers, importers, exporters, and distributors of medical devices in New Zealand. The key focus of MTANZ is to engage with policymakers, regulators, and healthcare professionals to ensure optimum patient access to medical technology.
