The National Intestinal Failure and Rehabilitation Service (NIFRS) have scheduled an annual Education and Network Day on Friday 31 March 2023 at Novotel at Auckland Airport.

Those attending include clinicians across multiple professional disciplines including surgeons, gastroenterologists, paediatricians, nurses, dietitians, pharmacists and psychologists, all of whom are involved in the management of patients with intestinal failure across Te Whatu Ora. The Education and Network Day is a key activity of the NIFRS. Our Service vision is for patients with intestinal failure to have access to equitable care in their own region, no matter where they live. This involves on-going up-skilling of professionals working in the field of intestinal failure to allow them to work in collaboration with the NIFRS to deliver care to patients as close to their homes as possible. Improving patient outcomes is dependent on providing opportunities to share practice and further clinician knowledge specific to the specialty of intestinal failure and importantly intestinal rehabilitation.
